Here's a guy Fede Alvarez from Uruguay who made a $300 indy short film that made an Impression on Hollywood and decided to offer him $30,000,000 for his story, yes thats not a typo the zeros are for real. The four min film "Ataque de Panico!" (Panic Attack) is about a Robot invasion that takes place somewhere in the capital of Uruguay.
All I have to say is for about $300 budget it's pretty amazing what you can accomplish. So far the offer has been made with Ghost House Pictures (Sam Raimi's) to produce a feature length film. The film will probably be set in...yes you guessed it Uruguay, maybe also Argentina and course the prize winner says he will start from scratch.
