$300 Film to Hollywood Gold

Here's a guy Fede Alvarez from Uruguay who made a $300 indy short film that made an Impression on Hollywood and decided to offer him $30,000,000 for his story, yes thats not a typo the zeros are for real. The four min film "Ataque de Panico!" (Panic Attack)  is about a Robot invasion that takes place somewhere in the capital of Uruguay.

All I have to say is for about $300 budget it's pretty amazing what you can accomplish. So far the offer has been made with Ghost House Pictures (Sam Raimi's) to produce a feature length film. The film will probably be set in...yes you guessed it Uruguay, maybe also Argentina and course the prize winner says he will start from scratch.

A short film project we (Cydonian Exile) produced for filmaka, to experience the clip without interruption, please pause till the film is fully loaded to watch smoothly (note the grey bar as it loads). Filmaka may be a little slow due to site traffic, as over 150 films have been submitted, so please be patient. Hopefully it will be picked up to be made a mini-series in UK. Episode 2 is already on the way.
